WINDSOR GOES BACK TO BACK ON MARITIME LEAGUE OF LEGENDS TOUR, WINS AT SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD..more to come
WINDSOR CAPTURES LEGENDS FEATURE ON INTERNATIONAL WEEKEND Chad Windsor (Ottawa, Ontario) brought home his first checkered flag of the Maritime League of Legends Tour (MLoLT) this past Saturday night at Petty International Raceway, outside of Moncton, New Brunswick. Windsor, driving the #61 Maritime Auto Supply, Richard Jameison Construction Legend car took the lead early in the event and had a classic battle with Scotia Speedworld Coco Beach Legend car point leader Dylan Blenkhorn for the victory. The battle was a continuation of the one they started the last time the MLoLT was at Petty International Raceway on July 16th. “We’ve come close so many this season to a win, so to get this one is special,” said Windsor after the 50-lap race. “To battle Dylan for the win here was only fitting after the last time we raced here. The team worked hard to get the car dialed in and it paid off for us. This is a big weekend at Petty with the River Glade International going on and I’m excited to have been able to race in front of a crowd like this.”
Scott MacLean, owner of MacLean Motorsports was also ecstatic to get the first win of the season in the bag. “It’s great to get the monkey off our back and get a win on the Tour this summer. Chad has run fantastic all season long and we hope this will give us the momentum we need to chase down the championship!” When asked about his championship chances with three races to go, Windsor is confident in his ability at the final two tracks. “We have some work to do at Scotia (Speedworld) but the last race there was huge step in the right direction. We’ve run well at Riverside (International Speedway) but I think Atlantic Motorsports Park will be big for us. I’ve done some laps recently at Calabogie up home and I’m excited to hit the track at AMP in October!” The #61 Ace in The Hole Septic, MacLean Motorsports car driven by Windsor sits fourth in the MLoLT point standings after the race at Petty International Raceway, just 17 points out of the leader Steve Pye. Dylan Blenkhorn’s father and 2010 champion Paul Blenkhorn is second in points with his son nipping at his bumper. Windsor sits just two points out of third and has a six point cushion on Darren Sherwood. The next race for the Maritime League of Legends Tour is Saturday, September 10th at Scotia Speedworld. The 50-lap race will serve as the undercard for the Dartmouth Dodge 200, the season finale for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Racing gets underway at 4pm. Advanced tickets for the race can be purchased through TicketAtlantic.com or at one of 27 Atlantic Superstore locations throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. After getting tangled up with the leader with seven laps to go at Capital City Speedway on July 13th, Chad fell to second place in the point standings. Meanwhile, after leading early laps at Petty International Speedway (NB) on Saturday, July 16th, Chad would come home in second place in the 50 lap main feature. The #61 team should find themselves just one point out of the leader in the Maritime League of Legends Tour as they head to Riverside International Speedway on July 22nd! WINDSOR WINS AT CAPITAL CITY (JUNE 15TH) The first feature win of the 2011 season for Ottawa's Chad Windsor came this past Wednesday at Capital City Speedway. Windsor and his #5 '37 Chevrolet Coupe finished fifth in the second heat of the evening, which ended up being the only blemish on the evening. Windsor would capture the first heat race of the night before winning the main event - a night which should help him fourth place point standing coming into the event! Though Windsor was excited to take his first checkered flag of the season, he knows there is some work to be done to his race car. "Even though we won tonight, we still have to do some fine tuning on the setup to to get the car better," commented Windsor following the event. This could be bad news for his competition as the season is only just beginning at his home track. The next event for Windsor Racing is Wednesday, June 22nd. MACCALLUM SECOND, WINDSOR FOURTH AT MLOL OPENER (May 23rd, 2010) - MacLean Motorsports was well represented up front at the Maritime League of Legends opener Sunday at Scotia Speedworld. The #61 Hella's Diner car driven by Chad Windsor of Ottawa, Ontario came home with a fourth place finish while Lower Sackville's Derek MacCallum took his #46 Boulton Racing car to a second place run while leading the most laps of the race. MacCallum battled with eventual winner and veteran Matt Moore in the closing laps of the race for the win.
HELLAS DINER TEAMS UP WITH MACLEAN

As is MacLean Motorsports to the racing community, Hellas Diner is a staple on Sackville Drive in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia – serving patrons delicious eats for many years. They are also prominently displayed on the #46 Boulton Racing Legend car driven by 2010 Rookie of the Year Derek MacCallum, who are customers of MacLean Motorsports’ chassis and setup department. “We’re looking forward to the weekend of racing,” said Scott MacLean of MacLean Motorsports. “We are proud to have Hellas Diner on board this weekend. We hope to give John (Gianokos, owner of Hellas Diner) and our fans a good showing on Sunday evening.” To top it off, Ottawa, Ontario’s Chad Windsor will be flying in for the weekend to handle driving duties for the #61 Hellas Diner car. Windsor has one prior 2011 start under his belt with MacLean Motorsports, which ended with a third place finish at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in April. “I'm really looking forward to this weekend,” commented Windsor, who will make his first Speedworld start on Sunday. “I’ll be running at another track that is unfamiliar to me. I hope to learn the track quick and give good feedback to get the car where we need it to be to get to the front.” The Maritime League of Legends Tour kicks off their season Sunday with a fifty-lap main feature prior to the CARQUEST 100, the season opening race for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. (10 May 2011) - SCOTSBURN, NOVA SCOTIA - MacLean Motorsports heads into their second race of the 2011 season with momentum on their side. With driver Chad Windsor (Ottawa, Ontario) at the helm at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on April 16th the team came home with a third place finish. The team will return to the famed New Hampshire track this Saturday with teammate Jerry Austin in tow and their eyes fixed on the first place trophy that they came close to obtaining one month ago in the NELCAR season opener. The team comes into this season with two main goals, explains Scott MacLean. “We want to find ourselves with an invitation to the Legends races on the Sprint Cup Series weekends. Chad proved during the last race that we are capable of running up front with the top guys in the series. We also want to prove that you don’t have to be from the Carolinas to make a Legend car go fast. We want to show them that a car tuned in a shop in Pictou County, Nova Scotia and a young man from Ottawa, Ontario can compete with and beat the best in the business. I think we sent a strong opening statement in our first race of the year and we hope to continue to follow it up on Saturday.” Windsor is also looking forward to tackle the New Hampshire track once again. “I’m very excited for round two at Loudon,” said Windsor on Monday. “With the warmer weather upon us I’m hoping the car will be even better than it was in April. We were one of the fastest cars at the end of the feature last time and I expect no difference this time around. Scott’s never quit attitude helped us overcome what we had to the last time down and it helped us get a podium finish. I hope to be coming out of there this weekend with the big win!” Jerry Austin and his #98 car will join the MacLean Motorsports team in Loudon this time around as well. Austin amassed six top ten finishes last season at Scotia Speedworld in Enfield, Nova Scotia en route to a ninth place finish in points. Austin also competed last season on the Maritime League of Legends Tour where he finished in the top ten in the standings. For more information on the race, visit NELCAR’s website at nelcar.net. MACLEAN MOTORSPORTS THIRD AT NEW HAMPSHIRE
The new season for Legend car racers in the Northeast officially opened last Saturday as the NELCAR Legends Tour visited the New Hampshire Motor Speedway for Round One of their twenty-six race schedule. Twenty-four cars made the haul to Loudon, New Hampshire to shake the winter cobwebs off and vie for the first checkered flag of the 2011 campaign. Included in those making the trek was ‘10 Capital City Speedway Legends champion Chad Windsor from Ottawa, Ontario. Windsor once again teamed up with Scott MacLean of MacLean Motorsports – a tandem which saw great success one season ago at Riverside International Speedway at MacLean’s home track in James River, Nova Scotia. The team was met in New England with cold temperatures which made the racing, especially the restarts of the race difficult. “With it being so cold and part of the track on concrete, it made for some intense restarts,” commented Windsor on Monday. “When we got there early Saturday morning we started right away making spring changes and we got on track for practice. We qualified third for our heat race and finished second which put us third for the feature. “The feature was filled with cautions and we were up to second for most of the race. With eight laps to go on a restart I got hit from behind. As it spun the tires I went spinning in front of the whole field. Starting from the back on the next restart I came through the field, making some three wide passes by splitting the cars on either side and ran out of time at the end. We’ll take third place, especially for being my first time at the track.” Car owner and crew chief MacLean was impressed about how the weekend went. “We made changes all day to the race car, including a spring change right before the feature,” MacLean explained. “The locals thought we were crazy with some of the changes we made. Chad is a wheelman and he showed it again on Saturday. To come from the back with eight laps to go to finish third is proof of that. For two guys who have never raced a track like that before and to come out with a podium finish is a great deal, we’ll take it!” “We’re looking forward to racing in New Hampshire more this year,” continued MacLean. “Our goal is to be in the top twenty in points to qualify for the Sprint Cup Invitational weekends [at the track]. Sponsorship is a valuable key to this. If we could find a few partners to come onboard this season we’d love to run Chad additional Maritime League of Legends Tour events as well but we can’t do it alone!” The next race for the team is slated for May 14th as Windsor and MacLean will once again tackle the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
